Pistol-type deep drilling machines
Gun drilling technology is designed to produce deep, high-precision and straight holes. Unlike classical drilling with twist drills, a gun drill has one effective cutting edge and works on the self-aligning principle: during rotation, the tool enters the material eccentrically, after which it stabilizes and self-centers inside the part.
Additional accuracy is provided by guide pads, which polish the surface of the hole, forming ideal geometry and high processing quality. Coolant is supplied through the internal channel of the drill, and chips are effectively removed along the V-shaped flute.
Gun drilling technology is optimal for holes with a diameter from Ø1 to Ø30 mm. For larger diameters, it is advisable to use BTA technology.
